SANS 164-3 This is the small 6A 3 pin socket which is the standard socket and plug for fluorescent light fittings. 16A sockets

SANS 164-4 Is the partially dedicated 16A socket which is available in red, blue and black. The earth pin is shaved to a different angle for each colour. The terminology “partially” dedicated means that all three colours can fit in to a standard white socket but the colours are not interchangeable i.e. red cannot fit into blue. 16A Two Pin Socket.

SANS 164-5 Is a similar shape to the 164-2 but only has two pins (no earth pin). Commonly used for cell phone chargers and other household equipment that is double insulated. This can only be used in a fixed installation if mounted on to the same yoke as a 164-1 or a 164-2. The 164-5 plug tops come with the equipment and are moulded on (non re-wireable) Schuko 2 Pin socket.
